OUR STORY

It all started when we rescued our first cat, a domestic longhair, Ellis. "Mr. Ellis" as we like to call him, entered our family and became known to all as the sweetest, cuddliest, most affectionate and quirky cat. Ellis gives actual kisses like a dog would. He meows back when you meow to him, and he will sleep on your shoulder purring for hours. After having him for a few years we knew there was no way we would be able to find another cat like him at another shelter and decided to seek out a breed that had his qualities. That's how we landed on Maine Coons and their amazing temperament, beauty, and companionship. We imported our first kittens from Russia and very quickly realized we wanted to share this amazing breed with the world!

ABOUT NORTH CREEK CATTERY

We are a small, CFA registered hobby cattery located right by Silver Lake in Everett, WA. Our pride is in selecting and breeding Maine Coons with the best temperament and health. Our Queens and Studs were imported from Russia with complete health testing for genetic conditions. The cats and kittens are raised in our home as part of the family, and regularly interact with young children. We are still small, and plan to keep it that way with only a couple breedings per year so we can dedicate our time and energy into each kitten that we raise.

More info regarding kittens and application to purchase is located in the "KITTENS" tab.

FAQs

  • How do we purchase a kitten?

    • Go to our Kittens tab to see if we currently have a litter on the ground and if any are available. There you can also find our kitten application! If you are interested in a kitten from a future litter, please still fill out the application. There will be space to indicate your preferences.

  • What guarantees do you have regarding the health of the kitten?

    • We have a two year health guarantee as a part of the kitten purchase contract. This guarantees the kitten is free of any genetic diseases or major congenital defects in the first two years of their life. Specific terms, limits, and conditions are located in the kitten application!

  • Are your cats genetically health tested?

    • Yes! Info and details can be found on the Queens and Studs tab.

  • What do you feed your cats/kittens?

    • We feed high protein, quality, dry and wet foods. We supplement with a raw diet as well!

  • How much does a kitten cost? Why do they cost so much?

    • Our kittens cost between $3,000 and 4,000. Breeding kittens is like a whole other job! The cost of a kitten comes down to the timd and expenses in raising their parents (vet visits, food, litter, toys, days off from work when newborns are on the ground, etc.) and raising the kittens (vet visits, immunizations, spay/neuter, food, litter, toys,, potential emergencies). Between the hard monetary costs of the above, plus the time and energy we put in outside of our daily lives--even taking days of from work--there is not a real profit in breeding kittens. Anyone doing it and making a major profit are cutting corners in areas you may want to be concerned about.
